Hi, I’m Ildze Greaves, and I created the Powerful Parenting blog to support parents aged 40 and over who are becoming parents again or stepping into parenthood for the first time.

My heart is to help you believe in yourself more, even in the most difficult moments, and to trust that God has your back. When parenting feels overwhelming, or you doubt your strength, I want to remind you that you are never walking alone. Through encouragement, shared experiences, and faith, I hope to support you in growing closer to God, strengthening your trust in Him, and finding peace and confidence in the journey He has placed before you.
What I’m good at.
I’m really good at preparing tasty, healthy meals for my family, and I’m also great at organising special occasions, such as Christmas meals out or birthday dinners.
My testimony.
When I became a mum again at the age of 40, it was one of the most beautiful seasons of my life, but it was also one of the most frightening. Alongside the joy, I carried deep anxiety and fear that I had never expected. There were moments when I realised I simply could not do it alone. I needed support, understanding, and reassurance. Through my church, I was blessed to meet a group of mums who truly saw me and understood my journey. One day, an intense anxiety attack came without warning and completely overwhelmed me. In that vulnerable moment, I reached out to a woman I had grown close to, and her compassion and presence brought me comfort. Through honest conversations, shared tears, and prayers together, I felt God’s peace surround me and remind me that I was not alone. That experience showed me the power of faith, connection, and support during the hardest moments.
Here are a few things about me.
- I was born in Latvia, a beautiful country by the Baltic Sea.
- I love going to bed early, but I also enjoy sleeping in when I can.
- Every morning starts with a delicious cup of coffee shared with my husband before he heads to work.
- I have a soft spot for snacks — especially biscuits and chocolate.
- I live with stress and anxiety, but over the years I’ve learned how to manage it more gently.
- When I feel stressed, I tend to eat more, so being mindful of what I eat is important to me.
- My primary love languages are physical touch and acts of service.
- I love travelling and discovering new recipes inspired by the countries I visit.
- My family is my whole world, and I would do anything for them.
- I truly value my work team — we support and uplift each other in such a meaningful way.
